Our 2022 show was The Mikado, and was the first at the Questors Theatre in Ealing since the Covid lockdown in 2020.
It represented a change in the group's artistic direction with Fraser Grant returning to his native Scotland and Jessica Dalton taking charge. It was also Musical Director James Naylor's first full scale Questors show.
We also welcomed a new lighting designer, Morna Weir, after Francois Langton's departure.
The audiences seemed to like Jessica's vision of the production reflecting modern popular Japanese culture which was brought to life by Martin Jarvis's imaginative set design together with Morna's lighting.
With smaller orchestral forces, the chorus and soloists could be heard well and yet the true flavour of Sullivan's score reflected.
A joyous friday night audience demanded an encore from the orchestra as a playout. A Julian first in living memory!
